Local Option Levy Results

Thank You

Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent election and engaged in the community conversation about fire and emergency medical services. While voters did not approve the local option levy, we appreciate the time residents took to learn about the District’s operations and service needs.

The levy would have funded the continuation of eight firefighter positions currently supported by a temporary federal grant. Without this funding, those positions cannot be sustained long term, which will affect staffing levels and emergency response.

What Happens Next

Woodburn Fire District and our Board of Directors will continue evaluating long-term funding needs and operational planning to help maintain emergency response services for the community.

This process will include:

●       Reviewing staffing levels and station coverage

●       Assessing impacts on response times

●       Evaluating operational needs and service priorities

●       Discussing future funding and service options for the District

Overlapping calls currently occur about 40% of the time, which can place increased demand on firefighters and neighboring agencies during periods of high call volume.

The District will continue sharing updates and information with the community as planning discussions move forward.

Stay Involved

Woodburn Fire District values transparency and community involvement. Residents are encouraged to attend Board meetings, ask questions, and stay engaged as decisions are made.
